Number of cases (April 24 - April 30):
Individuals who test positive are required to quarantine. Through contact tracing, anyone who was exposed to the individual will be notified.
*Based on this information, KCAI has not met any gating criteria for consideration of remote learning and/or building restrictions. For more information on gating criteria, consult the Return to Campus and Studio Guidelines (link below).
In-person dining has been suspended in Wylie Dining and Cafe Nerman until further notice. We will provide to-go only options and ask that students and employees eat alone or in their rooms and/or offices.

Effective February 25 through March 12, additional building restrictions have been put into place.
The KCAI Response Team has considered the new CDC options to reduce quarantine. Based on guidance from the Kansas City Missouri Health Department, we will continue to observe a 14 day quarantine period for individuals who have had direct exposure to a positive COVID-19 case.
RAVE Guardian Daily Symptom Check In:
Please note the following schedule related to winter break and completing the daily symptom check ins via the RAVE Guardian App.
Students, daily app notifications will be disabled December 20 through January 21. Students are not required to complete the daily symptom check in during this timeframe. Daily notifications will begin again for all students on January 22 and students will be required to complete the daily check in beginning on that date.*
Staff, daily app notifications will be disabled December 19 through January 3. Staff are not required to complete the daily symptom check in during this timeframe. Daily notifications will begin again for all staff on January 4 and staff will be required to complete the daily check in beginning on that date.**
Faculty, daily app notifications will be disabled December 24 through January 17. Faculty are not required to complete the daily symptom check in during this timeframe. Daily notifications will begin again for all faculty on January 18 and faculty will be required to complete the daily check in beginning on that date.**
*Students who have been approved to access campus during the winter break will be notified directly regarding expectations of the completion of a daily symptom check in.
**Staff and faculty who anticipate accessing campus during the timeframes that the app notifications are disabled are asked to notify their supervisor and firstname.lastname@example.org regarding expectations for symptom check ins. Staff who are 9-month full-time employees are not required to complete the daily symptom check ins until they report to work for the spring 2021 semester

Important: Bring your own headphones, follow the procedures for each location, and if coming on the weekend you must sign up on the Weekend Request Form.

KCAI's 2019 Combined Annual Security Report & Fire Safety Report
This report is provided in compliance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Crime Statistics Act, as amended. It provides students and employees of Kansas City Art Institute with information on the Institute’s security arrangements, policies and procedures; programs that provide education on such things as drug and alcohol abuse, awareness of various kinds of sex offenses, and the prevention of crime generally; and procedures the Institute will take to notify the campus community in the event of an emergency. Its purpose is to provide students and employees with information that will help them make informed decisions relating to their own safety and the safety of others.
KCAI will also provide a paper copy of this report upon request.
