A reading-intensive course focused on the art of the short story. A wide range of authors, classic and contemporary. Average weekly reading load: 50 pp. Weekly reading comprehension exams. We will, as Lawrence Weschler says, “Write as if reading mattered, and read as if writing mattered.”
