Description

Networking and exhibition are the focus of this course. From industry-specific networking events to gallery exhibitions, the student will be exposed to various ways to physically promote their professional practice. Students will experience an emphasis and attention to the process, planning, and implementation of artwork and marketing materials for promotion as it relates to the creation of the annual Illustration Department’s industry networking event. Student committees (faculty-led) will execute and implement plans for this event resulting in Junior and Senior level students tabling at the networking event attended by professionals from all over the Kansas City metropolitan area and beyond. Students will utilize their own identity and promotional materials created in Professional Practice: The Business of Illustration when tabling in this event. In addition, students will learn how to prepare and participate in the gallery exhibition space. This will include everything from framing
