Description

This component of the sophomore program is a comprehensive overview of hand-loom weaving and its relevance and significance in both fine art as well as applied design. Emphasis is placed on problem solving and developing increased awareness through observation of cause and effect. A focus in this course will be on individual solutions to a given problem that demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the processes used in constructed textiles, weaving in particular. At the same time and of equal importance will be the creative exploration and inventive approach to the development of your own visual language in constructed cloth and structured forms.
