Description
[Contemporary] This course is a study of significant philosophical and critical theories that influence aesthetic debates in visual art and culture from 1960 to the present. Knowledge and understanding of the various methodologies used to create and interpret works of art is emphasized, with special attention given to the emergence of New Art History. Students will gain the skills and knowledge necessary to apply these methodologies to their studio practice through course content, readings, writing assignments and discussions in class.
