Description
The Art Historical Studies sequence provides an introductory and thematic study of art from prehistory to the present and recognizes multiple art histories. Emphasis is on critical thinking skills, visual analysis, and a broadened awareness of global cultural and historical contexts. Each section explores a specific theme and selection of works across historical periods and geographic regions determined by the instructor. Art Historical Studies I focuses on art prior to 1600; Art Historical Studies II focuses on art after 1600. This course satisfies the same credit requirement as HRT 1001 - History of Art I.
