Description
[G/C; Asian Studies minor] This course will trace the history of Islamic art and architecture beginning with its formation in the 7th century. We will consider a wide variety of media — including textiles, ceramics, manuscripts and metalwork — as we explore this diverse culture. Emphasis will be placed on understanding artworks within their religious, political and cultural contexts.
